A Wedding Story: Brent & Alexandria's Intimate Wedding at the Turner Farmhouse, La Motte, VT

Updated: Sep 29, 2021

Ahhhhhhhhhh Covid-19. It really messed with everyone's plans, and required us all to adjust, and focus on the small things in life, the important people around us, and the importance of living every moment to it's fullest. I'm not going to lie to you, I fully expected to not do any weddings this year, so each wedding we did was extra special, and Ali and Brent's was no exception. When they told me they were going to go ahead with their wedding, and just keep it to a small affair surrounded by family, I was so incredibly thrilled! And wow it was such an absolutely beautiful wedding day!

Ali and Brent met at Barnes & Noble, in the most meet cute, perfectly Jane Austen romance way. Ali was a manager at Barnes & Noble and Brent worked there as a part-time bookseller. Their connection was instant, and Ali says that she knew the universe had brought them together for a reason. Due to policy, dating wasn't going to be allowed, so took hold of their future, quit to make it happen, and the rest is history! "We like to say that we walked into love instead of falling in it because we just knew."

Their proposal story is just as adorable! Ali tells it like this: "Either the first or second time Brent met my family, we were relaxing on my dad's property on Lake Champlain. My cousin, probably 5-6 years old at the time, in a very loud whisper, asked my dad if we were in love. Without consulting us, my dad said "yes." Then she asked if we were going to get married, to which he also replied "yes." I guess we weren't the only ones to know right away! Brent later told me that he knew then that is where he would propose. So, around a year a half later, we took the dog for a walk early one morning and he asked me on the beach."

Their wedding was something out of a book. It had everything: Sunny skies, storms, emotions running high, nerves, tears, smiles, hugs, and kisses, and as you'll see, the most dramatic sunset I've seen in years. And through it all, they held each other's hand, and 'walked into love' together.

Ali & Brent, thank you so much for trusting us to capture this gorgeous wedding. I'm truly so excited to see you two growing together. You two made me laugh, and cry, and I couldn't be more grateful to have been a part of your journey. We love you so much!
